About Us

We are family owned and operated. The Corson family has been lobstering for generations throughout the waters of Mount Desert Island. The Travelin Lobster was initially opened in 1970's by Captain Phil Corson's parents Philip & Caroll Corson. In 2004, Phil & Kelly Corson opened a small lobster shack at their cottages (Formerly Rose Eden Cottages) that they ran seasonally with Kelly's parents Hank & Charlene. The business continued to grow and in 2016 moved to our present location.

We have all outdoor seating and seasonally keep our hours set to close at dusk to avoid the evening chill in the air along with avoiding unpleasant mosquito's that tend to visit as soon as dark hits. We are first come first serve and during peak season our wait tends to be lengthy. Come early as we tend to sometimes run out later in the day. We are selling today's catch - it's that fresh. We also stop our waiting line 1 hr. prior to closing so that we may stick to an on time closing.

Join us for a fun outdoor lobster eating experience. We take great pleasure in our repeat guests and where locals come for their lobster! See you soon...
